SLTC as a promoter of global education and international standards is a partner to four (04) ongoing EU-ERASMUS funded capacity building projects through which relations with the prestigious universities in EU  countries including Germany, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Sweden, Romania, and Bulgaria are fostered. We believe that the involvement of SLTC in attracting EU grants to Sri Lanka on par with other Sri Lankan state universities is an outstanding achievement. 









Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) successfully held its first-ever Convocation on 30th of November 2021 at Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre with the participation of distinguished guests, academic & non-academic staff, graduates, and their parents. 













The event was graced by His Excellency Mr. Denis Chaibi as the Keynote speaker who is the present Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.









Mr. Chaibi congratulated all the graduates on their achievement while also commending SLTC as a young university, for guiding and uplifting the skills of the students throughout their undergraduate life.



Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC), Sri Lanka’s leader in innovative, technology driven and research-based education, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College on 02nd of November 2021 formalizing collaborations in the areas of dual degrees in Business & Management , student/staff exchanges and joint research/publications, symposia.

Ms. Sarasi Senadheera Program Lead - BBM (Hons) in Marketing Management, Faculty of Business of Studies of SLTC who took the leadership in formalizing this partnership will be coordinating the programmes to be finalized from SLTC’s end.



Emerging Tech Degrees, Study for emerging technology degrees at prestigious Deakin, AustraliakAustralia as on-campus student from day one





Under the academic partnership between Deakin University and SLTC that has been established to enable Sri Lankan students to gain an Australian degree through an ‘online to on-campus’ model of course delivery, 02 students were enrolled for July 2021 intake. The official welcome of the students and the parents was held on 09th of July 2021 via zoom.





Through this program,
students commence their studies in Sri Lanka via Deakin’s online Cloud Campus.
SLTC will provide local learning support to Deakin students including
face-to-face tutorials and student support services. SLTC also offers dedicated
learning facilities such as computer stations, fast broadband internet,
laboratories, library, classrooms and meeting rooms.





Courses available as part of
this pathway include:





  • Bachelor of Artificial
    Intelligence (3-year degree)
  • Bachelor of Computer Science
    (3-year degree)
  • Bachelor of Information
    Technology (3-year degree)
  • Bachelor of Software
    Engineering (Hons)  (4-year degree).

Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) with the vision of diversifying our student base, has a strategic objective of catering to foreign students and providing opportunities for them to study at SLTC. Hence we have pursued our established relationships to open up a few seats for the student intake of July 2021. 





With the prospect of reactivating relations with Nepal that were officially established back in 2019 during Nepal visit by SLTC, the Office of Research and International Affairs (ORIA) of SLTC   strategically introduced a scholarship programme for Nepali students. This initiative is one of its series of new collaborations that will be strengthened during ‘the new normal’ and to promote SLTC as a destination for higher education among South Asian students.









Under this programme, currently three (03) Nepali students; out of the two students with a full scholarship and one student with a semi- scholarship are reading for Bachelor of Science Hons in Data Science and Bachelor of Science Hons in Software Engineering and the lectures are offered online. We are looking forward to having the students on campus soon enabling them to meet their fellow SLTCiants and exposing them to real university experience at SLTC.



Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC) held its Research and Innovation Awards Night – RaIN 2021 on 7 April 2021 at the SLTC Padukka Campus. The event felicitated achievers who have won international and national recognition for research and innovation. The event was graced by Hon Min. Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth & Sports, as Chief Guest and Minister of Trade Hon Min Dr. Bandula Goonewardena, Hon. Nipuna Ranawaka, Member of Parliament.





RAIN 2021 recognised SLTC’s best performing researchers, staff and students, especially those who have shown exceptional performance in terms of research in the past years.





Key achievements recognized at the event included SLTC being ranked as 19th in Sri Lanka in Webometrics rankings, publishing of 2 books and 5 book chapters, as well as individual performances such as publishing the Highest-Impact Factor paper in Engineering & Physics – 2019.















The very first two students of the SLTC Cloud Connect with Deakin programme visited Sri Lanka Technological Main Campus, Padukka for the first time.





Under this special programme, students will be taught by Deakin lecturers and attend classes online with other Deakin students in Australia and around the world. SLTC lecturers will guide the students through the tutorials and provide the academic support required for them to succeed in their courses.  











Enhancing Governance, Management and Reform in Sri Lankan Universities through Non-Academic Staff Training/ENACT is a project funded with the support of the Ersamus+ Programme of the European Union





As a partner of the project ENACT, SLTC with the overall objective of widening the consultation on the training and improvement needed in order to strengthen the non-academic system, processes and structures in the operations of the Sri Lankan universities, conducted university level stakeholder buy-in- events in the month of March April 2021





SLTC ENACT project team under the supervision of SLTC Project Manager for ENACT, Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana conducted 4 sessions of round table discussions including representatives from Senior management, High-level administration, non-academic staff, Teaching staff and students.







SLTC opened its fully-fledged research lab complex at its Padukka Campus premises on 18th February 2021. The event was graced by Hon Minister Professor G L Peiris, Minister of Education as the chief guest, and Minister of Trade Hon Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena as the special guest.





Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, Principal Advisor to His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka, Council Member of Sri Lanka Technological Campus, was also present at this occasion.

The event coincided with the unveiling of the University crest and the 2025 infrastructure development blueprint of SLTC incorporating all enhancements in progress as well as projected to materialize in the foreseeable future. 10 students were felicitated for outstanding performance in research and innovations, best final year projects and international competition wins while 12 staff awards including Outstanding Research Award, Emerging Young Researcher and STLC President’s Research Award were distributed among members of faculty.
