Enhancing Governance, Management and Reform in Sri Lankan Universities through Non-Academic Staff Training / ENACT

Enhancing Governance, Management and Reform in Sri Lankan Universities through Non-Academic Staff Training/ENACT is a project funded with the support of the Ersamus+ Programme of the European Union.

ENACT specifically addresses the problems and inefficiencies in the Sri Lankan higher education system via capacity building of the non-academic workforce. The key aim of the project is to enhance the governance, management and quality, of university education in Sri Lanka by building the capacity of non-academic staff to enhance organizational performance and to support current and future modernization efforts and reforms in higher education.

The specific objectives of the project are

1. To enhance Sri Lankan Universities ’knowledge and good practice base in the area of governance and management.
2. To develop jointly with EU partners relevant and feasible training curriculum for non-academic staff.
3. To improve through training and international exposure the knowledge, skills and attitudes of non-academic staff in the partner SL universities
4. To create at the participating SL universities sustainable support structures dedicated to the professional development of non-academic staff
5. To serve as a flagship initiative, providing recommendations applicable to the national higher education system and inspiring other universities to develop adequate strategies and plans for the professional development of their admin staff.
